Frequently asked questions
The ingredients that we use to make our candles are simple and clean ingredients, including the exclusive use of soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks. Soy wax has a significantly longer burn-time than paraffin wax and burns much more cleanly, exuding 90 percent less soot. Our products are entirely parrafin and phthalate free.
Organic is a term used in relation to food, to identify food that is free of chemical fertilisers, genetic-modification and additives such as preservatives and colourings. Increasingly, the term “organic” is being applied to skincare, though the definition for “organic” skincare is vague. Moon Cocoon Candle's guarantee however, is that our plant-based products all do not contain parabens, fillers, artificial colourants and fragrances. We are comitted to the use of high quality cold pressed oils, natural clays, natural plant extracts and essential oils. We do use some very high quality, natural fragrance oils as well.
Our products are plant and nature-derived, and are created to be as gentle on and nourishing to the skin, as possible. Allergic reactions are rare. It is however possible to be allergic to almost anything, including naturally-occurring substances and matter. If you suspect sensitivity to an ingredient, please conduct a patch test first, on a small area of your skin.
Moon Cocoon products do not contain Retinoids and Salicylic Acid. The topical use of such ingredients in small quantities (such as skincare) have not been proven to cause any complications to the child or at birth. I recommend that if you are pregnant, please stay clear of anything with sage in the title, as this is a natural ingredient believed by some to increase chances of miscarriage and we believe that you can never be too safe.
